The Frustrations of Wedding Planning...

So the wedding is in exactly one week now!  I'm nervous, excited, and a lot more, but this whole process of planning a wedding has really shown me a lot more of my likes and dislikes and people who I can truly count on.  This is not going to be a happy post, because I am really irritated at the moment.  So if anything, it is more of a way to help get out my frustrations!!

So, what exactly is it that is making me so upset?

1)  Rude vendors- I find this absolutely unacceptable.  Today I went to pick up my wedding dress.  This place has always been kinda rude to begin with and there were always certain things that bothered me (i.e. not letting me look through all the veils so I could choose the one I wanted, but insisting that the one they chose for me was the best),  but today was the absolute worst!  There was a mixup regarding the tuxes which was clearly caused by their lack of communication, and so they wanted to charge us more money.  When trying to explain their policy, the lady gets extremely frustrated and gives my mom and I the worst attitude, muttering under her breath "Oh my gosh, why don't you guys get this?!"  Who in America does business so rudely?!  I seriously wanted to punch the lady in the face!!!  I absolutely love my dress, but I will never ever go back there again nor would I recommend them to anyone!

2)  Complainers- The wedding process really show you who is supportive and who is difficult.  No offense, but unless you are Peter or someone in our families, I really don't care whether you like something or not.  Because it's my wedding, I'm going to choose the colors I want, the dresses I want, the flowers I want, etc.  If you have a problem with something or dislike something, then that's your own deal, but don't whine about it to me!!  It's unbelievable that people could complain to me about what I want for MY own wedding.  I am certainly not going to be a people pleaser.

3)  People who never RSVP- I know that everyone has a busy life, but it does not take long at all to click yes or no.  Failing to RSVP really pushes back the planning process, especially when we have to waste time tracking people down.  Wedding planning is so difficult, and it should be obvious that we have mandatory deadlines to give to certain vendors.

4)  People who cannot be punctual- Yes, there are always unexpected bouts of traffic or things not planned for, but punctuality in regards to wedding stuff is so important!!  If you're not sure of where to go or think there might be traffic, allow yourself some extra time.  If you are late (i.e. for family pictures), you push everyone back on schedule and make it that much more stressful for the bride and groom.

Okay, there is more, but I should end here before I get too carried away with my feelings of frustration.  On a brighter note, there have been many people who have been amazingly helpful and encouraging during this process, and I am extremely grateful for them!  This is my last week as a Kwan...how strange it'll be to lose my KJK initials!

And of course one of my seldom xanga posts would not be complete without a picture of the papoose.  This is from when we went swimming with Wes last weekend!  He was kinda grouchy though, which is why he doesn't look super happy in the picture =P  He's almost 14 months now!

We had our food tasting a couple of weeks ago and it was SO much fun!!  The food was delicious and we really enjoyed ourselves...here is a sneak preview of one of the appetizers we chose for the wedding!  Can you tell what it is??  YUMMY!

I also got my very first manicure ever!!  It was so much fun and I think I might wanna do it on a regular basis now...=)

And look what special thing we got today! =)  I can't believe we're getting married next month!!  I'm so excited to marry my best friend!  God is good =)

Happy FIRST birthday, little papoose!!!!! =D =D  I can't believe he is growing up sooo fast already...I still remember visiting him at the hospital when he was only a few hours old!  He couldn't do a thing on his own, and now he is already all over the place and always getting into everything...he never stays still!  They had a big birthday party for him at Gymboree with all of his little baby friends, and this is a pic of Wes crawling through one of the tunnels...it's one of my favorites!  Look at his outfit too, it's so cute!

I love this picture too because it shows how little he is!!

Here is the papoose with his parents eating his Mickey Mouse birthday cake.  He didn't like it though, it was quite sad! =(

And of course, someone else had to play too! =P
